Here's A More Thorough Explanation of Scale, Magneto Hydrodynamics, and GMX.
Scale develops when minerals suspended in water precipitate out and cling to surfaces (like your shower walls, sinks, toilet bowls, and plumbing pipes). These minerals are picked up by the water as it passes through the earth. When it rains the water filters down through the soil and along underground rivers, dissolving organic and inorganic minerals as it flows. When this water is pumped from a well, the dissolved minerals are suspended in the water. When it is stored and especially when it is heated (as in your hot water heater), the minerals tend to precipitate or fall out of their suspended state.
Scale is the physical form that minerals take when they precipitate out of untreated water. When untreated, they form large clusters with jagged edges that make the clusters of minerals to stick to surfaces.
Scale causes a number of problems: wasted energy (from a buildup of scale in hot water heaters), corrosion & buildup of scale in pipes that can require early replacement of plumbing pipes and fixtures, the need to use more soap to achieve the same level of cleanliness on your skin, in your clothes, and in your dishwasher, dry hair and the need to use more conditioners, unpleasant taste and smell, and unnecessary and ongoing cash outlays if you use sodium-based water softeners. The reason most people buy water softeners is to combat scale problems. GMX combats scale without the use of additives such as:
salts
chemicals
contaminants
GMX implements the technology of magneto hydrodynamics. Magneto-hydrodynamics is a fancy term used for the ability to generate power by passing a conductive fluid through an energy field.
You've had the experience of walking across a carpet then getting an electric shock when you touched a door knob. You generated an electrical charge from kinetic energy! The same thing happens when some conductive fluid passes through a properly focused energy field. The flow of conductive material (the mineral) in the water generates a charge that affects how the minerals bond. Instead of precipitating out in a sticky, rock-hard form--like ice, minerals in water treated by magneto hydrodynamics precipitate out in a soft crystalline powder form--like snow. Snow brushes off while ice must be scraped off.
Treating water with GMX magneto hydrodynamics does not remove the minerals from the water but it does make dealing with them much easier.GMX does not eliminate the need for routine maintenance. You will still need to clean your sinks, showers, toilet bowls, etc. But with GMX treated water, it'll be much easier.
Faraday's law explains why GMX fluid conditioners never wear out. All of the energy needed to affect the change of the mineral is generated by the flow of the water. No magnetic energy is expended through the use of the system. There are no moving parts to wear out. The GMX system is maintenance free!Magneto hydrodynamics are not the use of magnets. Rather, it is the science of using magnetics in a technology to produce a given outcome. Different magnetic technologies are used in MRIs in hospitals, scanners at check out stands, on credit cards, in computers, and videotape to name a few. GMX is another kind of magnetic technology. GMX is a magnetic technology. It is not a magnet!Three principles make magneto hydrodynamics work:
strength of the magnetic field
the presence of a focused energy field
contact time
If any one of these factors is omitted or if their relationship to each other
is not properly proportional, the process breaks down and magneto hydrodynamics will not
work. Environmental Issues GMX treatment uses no sodium, no chemicals, and no contaminants. No water is
wasted because there is no need to back flush the system. No electricity is used. There is
no recycling because the system does not wear out. And finally, it meets or exceeds
environmental requirements. Surface tension What is surface tension and why should I be concerned about it?Try this experiment. Pour some hard water on a dry towel and watch it bead up and roll around on the
surface. Then pour some distilled water on a different dry portion of the towel and watch
how it is absorbed more quickly. The distilled water has no minerals and so has less
surface tension. Magneto hydrodynamics reduce the surface tension of water, making the
water wetter. Surfactants, which are chemicals, are used in agricultural and commercial
applications to reduce surface tension and make water wetter. GMX accomplishes the same
thing without the use of chemicals. Reducing the surface tension allows more of the
minerals to be used in the root systems of vegetation--the minerals are in a more
available form so the plants can absorb the minerals rather than accumulating in the soil
to toxic levels. Chlorine & Sulfur Chlorine in its natural state is a gas. However, when water treatment plants
inject chlorine into the water system, it is in a liquid form. If your water has a strong
chlorine smell when you first draw a glass of water from the tap, try this test. Notice
how strong it smells right after you pour it. Then let it sit for a while. The chlorine
smell dissipates and you can't smell it as much if at all. When chlorinated water
passes through the GMX system, this process occurs much more rapidly so that your water
tastes better right out of the tap. Sulfite minerals, on the other hand, are in a crystalline form and are
transformed into solid masses as they pass through the energy field. The end result is
less sulfur smell and taste. A lot of people comment on how much better the water tastes and smells after
installing GMX on their homes. The reason is not because GMX filters anything out of the
water. Rather the system changes these substances into gases or solid masses more quickly
than they would naturally. Two GuaranteesGMX stops the growth of hard scale.
It will not get any worse. GMX will progressively remove existing calcium build up based on the water
flow.
The more the water flows over a problem area, the more quickly you will realize the
benefits. GMX specializes in scale control GMX is a unique and state-of-the-art technology. It has taken the in-line
system and converted it to a clamp-on system making it more cost effective and easier, for
virtually anyone, to install it in his or her home. Want to learn more? The Dept. of Energy's Federal Emergency Management Program has issued a Federal Technology Alert concerning magnetics
